Leland Bardwell at 100
Lepus Print invites you to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of poet Leland Bardwell. Ireland Chair of Poetry (2016-2019) Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin will be joined by special guests from the world of contemporary Irish poetry. The second of our Indie Afternoons will see the launch of a new volume of Leland Bardwell poems from Lepus Print chosen by an all-woman line up of literary peers, family and friends with texts that honour and remember a major Irish writer who cherished and made her home in Sligo.
Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin
Born 1942 in Cork, she taught at Trinity College, Dublin from 1966 to 2011. Ireland Chair of poetry (2016-2019). Editor of the literary journal Cyphers, co-founded in 1975 with Leland Bardwell, Pearse Hutchinson and Macdara Woods. Her Collected Poems appeared from Gallery Press in 2020 and was awarded the Pigott Prize in 2021. She has published eleven collections, as well as translations of poetry from Irish, Italian and Romanian.
